October 27, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Distribution Management Systems, Inc. has been named to Deloitte & Touche's prestigious "Technology Fast 50" Program for Connecticut for the fourth consecutive year. Rankings are based on the company's revenue growth over the past five years.
Distribution Management Systems, Inc.'s CEO, Joseph Greene, credits a desire to make use of leading-edge technology and sharing it with a satisfied customer base as the foundation of this growth. He said, "Our desire is to position our staff as the IT department for each of our customers. It allows us to understand our customer's needs, keeps us focused on product excellence, and helps our customers become leaders in their individual markets." Since its inception in 1979, Distribution Management Systems has been a leader in the design and implementation of computer solutions for distributors. It is the first company in the country created specifically to address the data processing needs of foodservice distributors. In the 1990's, DMS expanded into the Wine and Spirits distribution industry. The company was founded by a management team with a background in distribution, rather than data processing. "Our staff has picked orders, filled stock, loaded trucks and driven forklifts. We have run a front office, served as a credit manager, buyer, sales representative and even have two employees that have been Vice Presidents of Food distributors. The DMS staff holds advanced degrees in fields including Management Information Systems, Management, Clinical Nutrition, Marketing, Education, Logistics and Computer Science. This varied background enables us to design systems for our customers without having them waste time explaining their needs." DMS does not sell a software "package". Our products are "systems solutions", utilizing programming, warehouse and delivery techniques, management consulting and training. Our goal is to integrate a system into a distributorship and then provide ongoing support services to assist customers. This will increase their productivity and decrease expenses yielding growth, profitability and success for our user.
